We have two kinds NiTi archwires, Super Elastic archwires and Heat Activated archwires.

Super-elastic arch wires makes use of the super elasticity of Ni-Ti alloy. It can provide persistent orthopedic force and so reduce the treatment times greatly. Shape memory effect arch wires, or Heat Activated archwires, make use of the shape memory function of Ni-Ti alloy. At room temperature, such wire is soft, pliable, and easy to engage. And it is not until they are warmed in body temperature, the shape memory and super elasticity are triggered, and the arch wire returns to its original arch form with light, near constant force.
